Nutrition Specialist, Indian River County

Job Goal: To assist the Director of Food and Nutrition Services with the operation of the food service program through the management of the local FNS program in accordance with all applicable laws, regulations, policies and procedures. To provide nutritional guidance in menu planning, nutrient analysis, food procurement, and nutritional education to the school sites.

Job Description: Assists the Director of FNS with the coordination and operation of the NSLB Programs. Develops menus that are customer driven for all grade levels meeting or exceeding program guidelines for nutritional adequacy and cost. Involves students, FNS managers, FNS staff and when feasible school staff and parents in the menu process. Liaison and resource to parents and families needing menu modification due to a disability. Conducts nutrient analysis of all menus and provides information to customers. Works with vendors in securing products needed to support menus and program needs. Physical Requirements: Occasional lifting up to 50 lbs.

Food Service Specialist, Putnam County

Job Goals: To assist the school Food Service Director in all the aspects of the school Food Service Program.

Job Description: Assists the Director of FNS with the coordination and operation of the NSLB Programs. Develops menus that are customer driven for all grade levels meeting or exceeding program guidelines for nutritional adequacy and cost. Provide technical assistance to school sites regarding quality assurance and control by monitoring food items for taste, appearance and quality guidelines. Provide technical assistance to school staff regarding the Community Eligibility Program, meal collection procedure and compliance with USDA regulation, state board rules, laws and school board policies. Assist the School Food Service Director in evaluating school site food service programs for efficiency of operation, accountability, financial status, and compliance with policies, procedures, laws and regulations.Assist in planning, developing and conducting in-service activities and training classes for school food service personnel. Physical Requirements: Occasional lifting up to 20 lbs.

Food Service Supervisor, Putnam County

Job Goals: To assist the Food Service Director in providing quality meals which are nutritious, conforms to the dietary guidelines and is well accepted by our customers while operating a financially self-supportive program in compliance with federal, state, and local rules, regulations, policies, and codes.

Job Description: Plan, coordinate, implement and evaluate menus and recipes. Monitor menu planning to meet nutrition, production and cost requirements. Evaluate cafeteria programs to determine efficiency of operation, financial status and compliance with policies, procedures and regulations. Coordinate recipe development and testing of new products. Plan and provide training and technical assistance to staff in the area of food and nutrition. Act as a liaison between school administration and staff, parents, cafeterias and District Office providing resources as needed. Participate in the development and implementation of the District’s
Wellness Policy. Assist with healthy vending and à la carte programs. Physical Requirements: Occasional lifting up to 20 lbs.

 FNW Program Specialist III, FDACS

Job Goal: To provide shared responsibility for ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements for school meals and supporting healthy school environments within the framework of the child nutrition programs. 

Job Description: This position will provide onsite and virtual support to Florida schools implementing a new foodservice technology system (P.O.I.N.T. System) as part of the USDA National School Lunch Program (NSLP). This includes gaining knowledge of the system’s 8 modules with ability to apply this knowledge related to menu planning, ordering, inventory management and nutrient analysis. As assigned, serve to provide functional and technical support to local school food service management and state agency staff. Minimum requirements: A bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university and three (3) years professional experience.
